The Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission is readvertising the position of Manager Education and Advocacy to join us in our Suva Office.
About the role
As Manager Education and Advocacy, you will be at the forefront of efforts to promote human rights in Fiji.
By educating communities and shaping national conversations, you will play a critical role in enabling the Commission to carry out its mandate to promote and protect human rights.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of public awareness and training campaigns, to promote human rights in schools, including Government and CSOs communities across Fiji.
- Build partnerships with CSOs and government agencies.
- Represent the Commission in high-profile public forums, media engagements, and stakeholder consultations.
- Manage the Education and Advocacy team, including by supporting staff to lead impactful in training and outreach.
About you
We are looking for candidates with:
- A strong background (ideally 10+ years) in education, training or community development.
- A bachelor’s degree in education, law, human rights, development, or another related field.
- Leadership experience, ideally having managed staff, or having led people, teams and programs.
- Experience designing and delivering impactful training or education programs.
- Knowledge of Fiji’s Constitution, human rights frameworks, and socio cultural dynamics.
- An ability to navigate diverse communities, including cultural protocols, with respect and awareness, and (ideally) the ability to communicate in vernacular languages.
- Experience managing budgets and working with donors.
- A demonstrated commitment to human rights values, and to the mandate and work of the Commission.
About the Commission
The Commission is a statutory body established under the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji. It has a constitutional mandate to promote, protect, and uphold human rights across the country. The Commission works to develop a culture of human rights by educating the public about their rights and freedoms, receiving and investigating alleged violations, facilitating conciliations, and where necessary, seeking redress through the courts. It also provides recommendations to Government on laws and policies to ensure compliance with human rights standards, and monitors Fiji’s obligations under international human rights treaties and conventions.
Salary and role information

Manager Education and Advocacy FJD $55,000-75,000 Suva
The starting salary for this role will be based on the range above, in line with preferred candidate’s experience and qualifications.
